Point of View... How did it happen??

Imagine this scene. You are playing in the basement with a friend and one of your siblings. Suddenly an argument breaks out over what you should do next. Suddenly someone is crying. Your mom comes and asks what happened. There are 4 points of view to this scene. Yours, your sister’s or brother’s, your friend, and your mother’s way of explaining what happened according to what they know. The same is true with books. Authors tell stories from one or more points of view. This point of view effects the story in many ways!

Tiger Topic:
Think about the story you are reading. Who is telling the story? This is the point of view of the story? How would this story change if a different character told the story? What if you told the story to someone else? How would that change the story?

Many of you may, or may not have heard of Gordon Korman. He writes a lot of books for children. In fact, he has written over 25 books, and actually wrote his first book at 12 years old, which was published when he was 14! Here is a link where you can find out some fascinating information about Gordon Korman. Click here to see the information. Hope you enjoy it!

The front cover of the last of a 3 part series by Gordon Korman
Korman has written many series of books, but one recent book available is called Framed. It is the 3rd book in a series.

The first book in the series if you have not read it, is called Swindle. Click here to see a short video about Swindle from the author himself! The middle book in the series is called Zoobreak. I highly recommend these books if you have not read them!
